There's Hope for Life
The gift of life, like any other gift, has been granted us to be enjoyed, not endured. But we can feel overwhelmed by responsibilities and overcommitted to activities. Around us is sometimes more than we can handle, and within us is a confusing array of thoughts and emotions about the path we’ve found ourselves walking.
Yet the same God who gave us life in the first place knows all about the obstacles we face enjoying the gift, and he has provided the only solution. Living Hope Church is a community of people who have found that solution through faith in Jesus Christ. As part of enjoying this new way of life he has given us we do everything we can to help other people learn to know and love God through a relationship with Jesus.
We have staked our lives on the fact that Jesus Christ has defeated death and sin by dying and rising from the dead. He died on a cross in order to restore people like us to friendship with God. We are people who have sinfully attempted to make life work on our own terms, ignoring and insulting the One who gave us life in the first place. Because he is himself God, Jesus is uniquely able to offer us a restored relationship with his Father, Because he is also a human, he has shown us how to live the ideal human life. And because he has given us the gift of his own Holy Spirit, we have his power to live a new kind of life.
The Lewisville-Flower Mound area of North Texas is one of the best places in America to live. But no place feels like home without other people walking with us through life, pursuing the same ends, and helping each other along when we are tempted to quit. We have found that people who love the same God and want to walk the same path need each other, and we welcome anyone interested to join us on the journey. As our lives are being transformed by God’s grace, we expect him to use us to serve our community, our nation and even other parts of the world. As we do he will continue through us his work of transforming everything in creation to suit his purposes.
LHC meets together every Sunday morning at 10:30 near the corner of College Parkway and Kirkpatrick, right on the border between Lewisville and Flower Mound. We focus our attention on loving God and each other so that we can do a better job of loving a hurting world around us. A number of smaller groups of us meet in homes and public places during the week to encourage each other and reach out to people who want to enjoy God’s life together. We also have special ministries that help children and teenagers become genuine followers of Jesus Christ.
